We all need a boost of energy getting back to work and into our regular routines after the holiday break. I know we are all still thinking “oh for one more day of staying home and not coming into work” 🙂 Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but the break is over and we got to go on. So, give yourself a boost with the help of some vitamin C by making this easy three ingredient smoothie.
2 organic peeled oranges
1 cup almond milk
1 peeled organic banana
Place all ingredients in and blender and blend until smooth and creamy!
Now drink up!
Whenever possible I like to make my own almond milk. It can be whipped up in a matter of minutes and tastes so much better. My recipe involves a Vitamix blender. But no worries if you don’t have one….you can use your own blender just be sure to soak the almonds and dates, separately, overnight in a bowl of water.
Enjoy almond milk on its own, in your coffee or pour it over your cereal.
3 1/2 cups of water
1 1/2 cups of raw almonds
A dash or two of cinnamon (optional)
Place all ingredients into the Vitamix blender.
Turn machine on and slowly increase speed from Variable 1 to Variable 10, then to High.
Blend for 3 minutes or until desired consistency is reached.
Note: Once desired consistency is achieved, you can strain the almond milk through a cheese cloth or flirtation bag.
